Christian Makoun, one of Club Internacional de Fútbol Miami’s initial signings, traveled from Venezuela to Miami to spend 24 hours in the city and represent the club at the official EA FIFA 20 Launch event.
In his 24 hours in the city Makoun also made a trip to TUDN studios, who is an official broadcast partner for Major League Soccer. He was able to speak at length about himself, how he reached this point in his career, and his future with Inter Miami.
for an MLS expansion team he spoke about the chance to make history at a club he described as a “new book.” He dubbed it a beautiful opportunity to represent the city and the fans who have been awaiting the return of first division soccer to Miami.
Later he visited ESPN , where he was able to share more about his experience playing at the club level in Venezuela and his expectations for Inter Miami.
“I think Miami is more than a team, Inter Miami is a movement,” Makoun told ESPN . He expressed his desire to make history with the club and explained why he believes he will be able to do so.
“This club gives me a calmness because every time I come [to Miami], I see the seriousness, the work, the commitment with which they work. I don’t have any doubt that it’s a good project,” said Makoun.
When asked about playing for Owner and President of Soccer Operations David Beckham, Makoun said, “He doesn’t just move soccer, he moves the world.”
Makoun later made an appearance at the 20 Launch event. There he was able to meet U.S. soccer legend Landon Donovan, former NFL star Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, and members of the club’s official groups, among others. He also had the opportunity to experience FIFA 20 more than a week before its release on September 27th. He even had the chance to compete against professional FIFA player Abe Valbuena, Orlando City's official competitor.
