Inter Miami culminated its final preparations in the 2021 campaign ahead of a trip to play in an afternoon match against New England Revolution on Sunday, Nov. 7 at Gillette Stadium.

Speaking ahead of the last game of the regular season, defender Leandro González Pirez emphasized what is at stake for the Club.

“We are playing the best team right now in the country. But we believe in ourselves, we play for pride so we play for ourselves, for the fans, for the city. We have to go there and play our best, which is what we’ll do,” said LGP.

Head coach Phil Neville enthusiastically shared a similar sentiment as he spoke about the team’s final matchup of the season playing against New England.

“We’re going into the last week of the season with nothing to play for, apart from probably the most important thing, which is pride. So Sunday for me is a massive, exciting challenge in terms of pride, playing for Inter Miami pride. Finish the season well, and ‘Can we beat the best team in the country?’” said Neville.

The Club’s manager also touched on the lessons learned from this season that will steer the team in the right direction to become future playoff contenders.

“I think what we’ve seen over the last two years [is] we’ve seen the nucleus of this squad get opportunities to become a successful squad in this league. I think we’re in a real good position to put the jigsaw together to attack next season, to be successful. Because I think that’s the main thing. We want to be successful. We want to be in the playoffs. The emptiness we have now we’ve got to bottle because we don’t want to feel that again,” said Neville.

Sunday’s match will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live locally on My33, UniMás and the Inter Miami App. Fans worldwide can follow live updates including video highlights and stats on the Club’s App.
