JANUARY 29, 2018

Officially launched as Major League Soccer’s 25th Club set to begin play in March 2020. “Today is a proud day for Miami, and for our family,” said Managing Owner and CEO Jorge Mas. “Our club will have a global vision but our fans in South Florida will always be our first priority reflecting the best of our community.” Inter Miami CF is a hyperglobal -yet local- team that represents our fans and our city. We are fan-centered and fan-driven Club and we want to create a passion for soccer in our city. We are one, we are fearless, we are ready.

The Name Unveil

SEPTEMBER 5, 2018

Inter Miami CF officially announced the name, crest, and colors of the club. “This is such a proud day for myself and for the entire team. It’s an honor to announce the new name and crest to our fans,” said David Beckham, Inter Miami Owner. “We are taking another important step in establishing our club and today marks an important moment in the history of Club Internacional de Fútbol Miami.” “Our city and our fans draw their strength from the dreams of a global population that calls Miami home,” said Inter Miami Managing Owner Jorge Mas. “It is only fitting that our name pays tribute to the inclusiveness that makes us who we are.”

Lockhart Stadium Demolition Ceremony Held in Preparation for New Facilities

MAY 8, 2019

The former Lockhart Stadium structure was demolished in a ceremony hosted by club representatives. The site would go on to house Inter Miami CF’s new stadium – now Chase Stadium – as well as the permanent training center – now the Florida Blue Training Center – and Inter Miami CF II.

The Academy Plays First Match in South Korea, Becoming the First Inter Miami CF Team to Play a Match

AUGUST 11, 2019

The academy traveled to South Korea to participate in the 2019 K League U-17 Championship tournament. The U17-18 team became the first team to compete while wearing the club’s badge, where they won their match against Ansan 2-0.

Inaugural Home Jersey Unveiled

FEBRUARY 24, 2020

Inter Miami CF unveiled its first-ever home Major League Soccer (MLS) jersey. Inspired by the wings of the great white heron and accented by pink to reflect the vibrant soul of South Florida, the Inter Miami Home Jersey proudly represents the Club and its fans in the franchise’s historic 2020 inaugural MLS season.

MLS Debut vs. Los Angeles FC

MARCH 1, 2020

Inter Miami CF kicked off its inaugural season in Major League Soccer (MLS) with a 5:30 p.m. ET match at Banc of California Stadium against reigning Supporters’ Shield champions Los Angeles FC. The hosts left with a narrow 1-0 victory despite a valiant effort from debutants Inter Miami.

Inter Miami CF Debuts Stadium with First Victory

AUGUST 22, 2020

Inter Miami CF earned the first victory in Club history with a 3-2 win over Orlando City SC in its first match at Inter Miami CF Stadium – now Chase Stadium. It was Inter Miami who struck first on its home field when Julián Carranza, Argentine forward, scored his first goal for the Club in the 12th minute. This marked the first MLS goal scored at Inter Miami CF Stadium – now Chase Stadium.

Forward Gonzalo Higuaín Signed as Designated Player

SEPTEMBER 18, 2020

Inter Miami CF signed record-breaking goal scorer and three-time LaLiga and Serie A winner Gonzalo Higuaín as a Designated Player. The Argentine forward joined Inter Miami after leading Juventus FC to the 2019-20 Serie A.

First-Ever Homegrown Signing

DECEMBER 18, 2020

Inter Miami CF signed 15-year-old Felipe Valencia as a Homegrown Player, marking the first Academy product in club history to sign with the First Team. Valencia was the youngest Academy player to play for Fort Lauderdale CF – now Inter Miami CF II – in 2020 and the
youngest to score a goal at any USL level. At the time, he was also the 15th youngest player to sign a contract in MLS history.

Chris Henderson Appointed as Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director

JANUARY 18, 2020

Club has appointed Chris Henderson as Chief Soccer Officer (CSO) and Sporting Director to lead the strategic vision of the Club. Henderson will manage soccer operations and on-field developments, from the First Team to the youth levels.

Inter Miami CF Partners with AutoNation to Drive Out Cancer; Sign Multi-Year Stadium Naming Rights and Training Top Deal

AutoNation became the official and exclusive automotive partner of Inter Miami CF, which includes naming rights of the stadium and branding on the First Team training kits. This partnership amplifies AutoNation and Inter Miami’s commitment to driving out cancer by
leveraging the power of fútbol to do good. Starting in April 2021, Inter Miami kicked off its second campaign in Major League Soccer at the newly named DRV PNK Stadium in support of AutoNation’s DRV PNK initiative.

Edison Azcona Becomes First Homegrown Player to Play for the First Team

MAY 2, 2021

In the 67th minute, Edison Azcona was subbed on for Inter Miami CF, marking the first time a Homegrown Player had represented the club at MLS level in club history. Edison Azcona was the second Homegrown signing in club history.

Inter Miami CF Appoints Xavier Asensi as Chief Business Officer

Inter Miami CF announced that it appointed Xavier Asensi as Chief Business Officer. Asensi, 39, joins Inter Miami after 10 years with FC Barcelona, where he most recently served as Chief Commercial Officer and was a member of the FC Barcelona Executive Board. “Xavi brings a proven record of success at one of the world’s greatest clubs,” said Inter Miami CF Managing Owner Jorge Mas. “His vision will further drive the growth of our Club and support our local and commercial partnerships.” “I am grateful for the trust and support Jorge Mas and David Beckham have given me, and I am very motivated and excited to begin this new journey in South Florida. Plastic pollution is a significant issue for the world, especially with regards to the ocean. The issue must be at the forefront of mind at all times to not only ensure continued awareness of, but also to remember that it is up to us to be part of the solution. With this in mind, Inter Miami launched its adidas Primeblue jersey made with Parley Ocean Plastic in collaboration with Major League Soccer ahead of World Oceans Day on June 8, becoming the first team in history to ever launch a jersey fully underwater.

Inter Miami CF Opens DRV PNK Stadium to a Sell-Out Crowd

On a Friday night vs. local rival Orlando City SC, DRV PNK Stadium was allowed to function at full capacity due to COVID-19 restrictions being lifted, and it was host to the first sell-out in club history.

Inter Miami CF Inks Primary Jersey Sponsor Deal With Leading Crypto Finance Firm XBTO

Wednesday, Sept. 15

Inter Miami unveiled XBTO, a prominent, global cryptofinance firm, as the first-ever Primary Jersey Sponsor for South Florida’s Major League Soccer (MLS) Club. The deal between Inter Miami and XBTO marks the first cryptofinance partnership in MLS.

Inter Miami players, Club co-owners and prominent members of the Miami tech community participated in the special event to discuss the partnership and the many benefits of the booming crypto industry.

Inter Miami Owners Mas Brothers, Beckham Increase Ownership Stake in the Club

Inter Miami CF announced Jorge and Jose Mas and David Beckham finalized the buyout of Marcelo Claure and Masayoshi Son. In addition, Ares Management (“Ares”) joined the Club as a preferred equity investor through funds managed by its Credit Group.

First-Ever Pink Kit, “The Heartbeat Kit” Unveiled

FEBRUARY 19, 2022

Inspired by and designed for the fans of Inter Miami CF – the true heartbeat of the team – the kit is the first all-pink jersey in club history. On the cuff of the jersey sleeves and on the jock tag, the fans are represented by an M-shaped line embossed into the fabric. Illustrating how the fans are the heartbeat of the club, the M is designed like a line from an electrocardiogram (EKG). In an additional design touch reflecting the true spirit between the club and its supporters, there is an inscription on the back of the neck of jersey that reads “Libertad Para Soñar” (Freedom to Dream). The design and font utilized are from a tattoo of IMCF Owner and President of Soccer
Operations David Beckham. The words were originally scripted in the handwriting of Beckham’s close friend – the global superstar singer, songwriter, recording executive and actor Marc Anthony.

Inter Miami CF II Announced to Join MLS NEXT PRO League

The City of Miami Commissions Vote ‘Yes’ on Miami Freedom Park Project

The City of Miami Commission made the people of Miami’s dream a reality, by voting to approve Miami Freedom Park. Miami Freedom Park will contain a 27,000-seat stadium, 750 hotel rooms, commercial and office space, community fields and the single largest public park in the city of Miami with over 58 acres of freely accessible, clean park land.

Inter Miami CF Clinches Playoffs for Second Time in Three Seasons

Inter Miami qualified for the MLS Playoffs for the second time in three seasons by beating local rival Orlando City SC at DRV PNK Stadium 4-1, the largest margin of victory in the 2022 season. Leo Campana scored the fastest goal in Inter Miami CF History, scoring after 35 seconds.

Adidas One Planet Jersey Unveiled with Great Hammerhead Shark

For the third edition of the campaign, Coral Cay and Cayman Jason went to the Bahamas to release this year’s One Planet Jersey underwater next to a Great Hammerhead Shark to promote responsible plastic use and the positive impact it can have on our ocean habitat. Four Homegrown Players Start for the First Team

Inter Miami CF Signs Spanish International Defender Jordi Alba

Inter Miami CF announced today that it has signed Spanish national team defender and UEFA Euro winner, UEFA Champions League winner, UEFA Nations League winner, and six-time LaLiga winner Jordi Alba to a contract through the 2024 Major League Soccer (MLS) season, with a Club option for 2025.

“Jordi is an accomplished, dynamic and experienced player that we’re excited to acquire to continue bolstering our squad. He has proven for over a decade that he is one of the best fullbacks in the sport due to both his defensive solidity and capacity to contribute in the attack. Inter Miami Crowned Inaugural Leagues Cup Champions

AUGUST 19, 2023

Inter Miami CF achieved another major milestone for the Club on Saturday night, making history by defeating Nashville SC at GEODIS Park in a dramatic penalty shootout to win the 2023 Leagues Cup title and clinch the First Team’s first official piece of silverware. The match ended 1-1 in regulation and featured a stellar performance in between the sticks from Man of the Match Drake Callender and a stunner from Lionel Messi to open the scoring in the first half.

Individually, two Inter Miami players also enjoyed the historic night in Tennessee, with Messi becoming the player with most trophies in the history of the sport with 44 and collecting Leagues Cup Best Player and Top Scorer awards. Goalkeeper Callender, meanwhile, earned Man of the Match honors for his stellar performance in the final as well as the Leagues Cup Best Goalkeeper award.
