Fans will have access to two regional friendly matches in February;
Opening Week schedule will be announced at a later date
Inter Miami CF opens its first preseason training camp in Major League Soccer on Monday, January 20.
With 45 days remaining before its first-ever match on the road on March 1 against the LAFC, Inter Miami will train regionally throughout the state of Florida, playing a series of six training scrimmages and friendly matches – of which two are open to the public.
“We understand the unique position we are in as an expansion club coming into a new preseason with players and coaches moving into town for the first time. For us it is important to bring the players together away from distractions, so they get to know each other, train and buy into our culture and coaching philosophies in a short period of time,” said Inter Miami CF Sporting Director Paul McDonough. “We have high expectations for the new season and look to strengthen the competitive team we’ve built for our fans in South Florida.”
In partnership with Baptist Health, the team will complete medical examinations/clearance before kicking off its preseason camp at Barry University for one week. The team will then travel to Port Saint Lucie and Bradenton in Florida from January 25 through February 6.
The team will train at the Club’s training complex in Fort Lauderdale for the first time from February 7 to February 14, before hitting the road for the final phase of preseason in St. Petersburg, where it will play two open friendly matches against the Philadelphia Union and USL’s Tampa Bay Rowdies at Al Lang Stadium as part of the 2020 Suncoast Invitational. Fans can attend the 2020 Suncoast Invitational matches for free and without a ticket.
Schedule for the final week at home will be announced at a later date outlining opportunities for fans in South Florida to see the team.
Club Internacional de Fútbol Miami will play all of its home matches at Inter Miami CF Stadium in Fort Lauderdale starting with the first-ever match on Saturday, March 14 against the LA Galaxy. Located off Commercial Boulevard and I-95, the stadium stands adjacent to the Club’s new 50,000 square foot state of the art training facility, which includes seven professional fields. The facility will be the home to all Inter Miami teams including MLS, USL League One and the Academy. It will also host international clubs, tournaments and local high school sporting events.
