Wil Trapp Training 5.20.20

On Thursday, May 14, Inter Miami playmaker Wil Trapp revealed his smooth singing voice to the world on an episode of MLS Idle, a weekly show that reveals the hidden talents of MLS players. Tonight the show revealed that Trapp won the fan vote and a $1,000 donation from MLS WORKS for the Baptist Health South Florida Foundation's COVID-19 Relief Fund.

The Inter Miami midfielder competed against Gianluca Busio of Sporting Kansas City, Aboubacar Keita of the Columbus Crew and Tom Pettersson of FC Cincinnati. Inter Miami fans helped give Trapp 32% of the total votes, enough to edge Pettersson (26%), Busio (22%) and Keita (20%) in the tightest race yet on MLS Idle.

Judges Susannah Collins and Charlie Davies called Trapp’s voice ‘angelic’ and both picked his performance as their favorite.

The $1,000 raised for the Baptist Health South Florida Foundation’s COVID-19 Relief Fund continues Inter Miami’s efforts to combat the effects of the pandemic. The Club has found ways to support initiatives from home starting with altering the Club's logo to encourage social distancing with the separation of its white herons, which are normally interlocked. The Club lit up the Inter Miami CF Stadium scoreboard blue for the nationwide #LightItBlue campaign in solidarity of healthcare workers at the frontlines of this pandemic.

Inter Miami also joined the global Twitch Stream Aid 2020 that raised over $2.7 million for the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, playing in the Twitch Rivals SuperGames ft. Fortnite for Charity in support of the Baptist Health Foundation’s COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund, as well as pledging a $55,000 donation to The Mourning Foundation in partnership with Captain Morgan. Inter Miami’s owners Jorge Mas, Beckham and Marcelo Claure also joined the Fanatics ALL IN Challenge. Inter Miami also launched a food distribution drive in its stadium in collaboration with DeliverLean.
