Luis Robles: “You can’t help but rejoice”

Luis Robles first day of small group training

Inter Miami players began voluntary small group training sessions at Inter Miami CF Training Complex this morning. Following the first in-person training session with his teammates after more than two months, Club captain Luis Robles shared the relief and happiness that all Inter Miami players felt.

“The guys had a lot of fun today. The reason I say that is because it’s crazy. You don’t think anything about having the privilege of passing the ball with your teammates or your friends and yet you go through an experience like we’re going through right now and that’s taken from you. When you’re allowed to do it again you just can’t help but rejoice in a way and really enjoy it,” said the Inter Miami goalkeeper in a video conference call with media this afternoon.

“I think that’s what today was. It was a lot of enjoyment.”

Robles also touched upon the intensity of the training sessions and the excitement about soon returning to full team training prior to the resumption of the season.

“The trainings have been really challenging and difficult, but as difficult as they are, it's a lot easier when you’re able to pass the ball with your teammate. I’m looking forward to the next phase when we’re actually allowed to be together as an entire group,” he added. “The unifying thing is we get to be together as a group, we get to train together and we get to get ready for the season to resume. That itself is really exciting.”

Today, Inter Miami announced the Club’s intent to submit a plan for the return to full team training in the near future.
