Diego Alonso and Blaise Matuidi in training

Following Blaise Matuidi’s first training sessions with the team, the World-Cup Winning French international midfielder shared his excitement on starting a new chapter in his decorated career with Inter Miami.

“I am really happy to be with this team. I am excited for this new challenge for me. My objective is to win trophies with this team, work hard and help the team to be better. I know that to win it’s a long way and I have to improve with the team and we have to work hard for that,” said an enthused Matuidi after training with his new teammates and coaching staff at Inter Miami CF Training Center. “What excited me the most to come here is the ambition of this club to grow, and to add my stone to the structure. Most importantly, I want to contribute by giving my best effort.”

“For me the most important objective is to bring the experience that I gained from the top European teams to help my teammates and this new club. I’m always going to give my best effort, my maximum to improve the team and set a good example like I always did in my previous clubs,” he added.

Matuidi was pleased after completing his first training sessions as an Inter Miami player and is looking forward to making his debut for the Club.

“The first training sessions were very good. I am very happy to be with the team. It took some time and I had to work on my own, but finally I am with them. I hope to be fit and ready as soon as possible to play with the team,” he said.

Meanwhile, manager Diego Alonso was delighted after Inter Miami’s newest addition’s first couple of sessions with the rest of the players, and confirmed that Matuidi may make his first outing donning the Inter Miami colors over the weekend.

“We’re happy that Blaise is training with us,” stated Alonso. “Blaise is not at one hundred percent physically, it’s normal because he came from a break before resuming training. At the same time, he’s available to play over the weekend. We think that he’s trained very well and we’re confident that he’s going to be ready to participate in the upcoming match.”

“I think the arrival of a player of his quality will undoubtedly help the team and that’s why we brought him on. Because of his capacity, his quality and because his qualities perfectly fit with the characteristics of the type of player we were looking for. His stature will help the team take the step to the next level,” he added.
