U-12, U-13, U-14, U-16 and U-19 Win 2024 Weston Cup title in respective categories
From February 16 to 19, the Inter Miami CF Academy presented by Baptist Health was in action at the 2024 Weston Cup. Notably, all five participating Academy age groups - U-12, U-13, U-14, U-16 and U-19 - won the tournament's title in their respective categories.
Let's take a look below at our Academy's stellar results in the 2024 Weston Cup.
U-12
Our Academy's U-12 side had a perfect performance at the 2024 Weston Cup, winning the title in the U-12 category by registering three group stage wins and then winning 4-0. Notably, the team went all tournament without conceding a goal.
U-13
Our U-13s also had a perfect record in the group stage, collecting nine points from three wins. The team then won 1-0 in the final to clinch the title.
U-14
The Academy's U-13 team finished second in the group stage of the competition after totaling seven points from two wins and a draw. The final of the U-14 category then presented a thrilling matchup that saw the Inter Miami level the scoring 1-1 in the final minutes with a strike from outside the box, before being crowned champions by winning in penalties.
U-16
Our U-16 side didn't shy away from the challenge despite playing up an age group, as the team competed in the U-17 category of the 2024 Weston Cup. The age difference proved no problem for our boys, and the team collected all nine points in the group stage by winning all three matches before eventually winning it all in a penalty shootout in the final after the game resulted in a 1-1 draw.
U-19
Lastly, the Academy's U-19 side also exhibited a high-level of play from start to finish. First, the team collected six points by winning both of its matches in the group stage. The team then completed the task and clinched the title by winning 3-2 in the final.
