Inter Miami CF fell 3-1 to FC Cincinnati in the team’s second road match of the 2022 season on Saturday afternoon.

Midfielder Mo Adams expressed that, despite the result, the team has to remain positive and show composure over a lengthy season.

“It's going to take time for us to come together and really get that chemistry going. It's four games into the season. I’ve been in this league for five years; the way you start isn’t always the way you finish. We have to remain patient and composed and translate what we do in training to games. We have a break now where we can put our head down and really work hard to come back from it.”

Adams added that the team’s sense of camaraderie is even more crucial to their success as the season advances.

“We’re all competitors, we all want to win, we all do everything it takes to get three points in the end. I think any team, if they come off a loss, they’re going to be very frustrated and that’s normal, but I think for us, we have a good group in the sense that we stick together, put our arms around each other and we understand that we all have to have a common goal in order to get there together.”

Head coach Phil Neville echoed Adams’ sentiments about the upcoming international break providing a moment for the squad to continue to work hard and come together as a unit.

“This gives us a period of time to work, to bond, to come together even more… By the time we come to [face] Houston [Dynamo], we should have a fully fit squad barring Ian Fray, so that will provide competition and hopefully the standards and the quality will go up.”

Inter Miami welcomes the Houston Dynamo to DRV PNK Stadium upon return from the international break, on Saturday, April 2 at 8 p.m. ET.
