Following the second day of individual workouts at the Clubās grounds, Inter Miami Head Coach Diego Alonso and players JuliĆ”n Carranza, MatĆas Pellegrini, team captain Luis Robles and Wil Trapp shared their thoughts after being able to make their long-awaited return to work at Inter Miami CF Training Complex.
Alonso and Robles were delighted to be back at the training fields.
āFor us, itās been a blessing to be able to start training. It's good to be able to see the players,ā said the Uruguayan coach. āPhysically they are in great shape. I saw them doing very well and Iām looking forward to being able to take the next step.ā
āToday was great, it was a lot of fun to be back. It was a very tough training session. I see the guys are working very, very hard, but I think theyāre glad to be here. Weāre just really grateful that we have found a way to be here and you can at least see the guys from a distance,ā stated Robles.
Trapp and Pellegrini shared the same sentiment as his teammate and coach, while also praising the Clubās and the leagueās efforts to provide a safe environment for players and the coaching staff at the training complex.
āItās been a breath of fresh air. Itās good to be in the sunshine, itās good to pass the ball even though itās against coolers and rebounders, shooting into a goal is amazing,ā highlighted Trapp, āYou certainly feel safe. From a safety perspective, itās as good as you can have considering the circumstances.ā
āTo have the coaching staff at a distance and being able to see them, see my teammates, train on the grass at the training ground is something we missed a lot. Iām very happy to be here,ā declared Pellegrini
āThe way they took care of us today was very safe and comfortable. The way they have done it is impressive,ā he added.
The teamās head coach, along with his players, concluded by expressing their gratitude to all health workers who are tirelessly working to keep communities around the world safe during the current pandemic.
āI want to thank all the health professionals working to keep us safe. Itās incredible what they are doing and they are the real heroes during this pandemic. We send them a big hug from a distance and we hope that they can be rewarded will all the love that we can give them,ā said Alonso.
āI truly believe that today all doctors around the world deserve a big round of applause and they deserve all the best for everything they are doing to take care of peopleās health,ā acknowledged Carranza.
