Inter Miami CF Academy player Gabriel Florentino has been called up by the U.S. U-15 Men’s Youth National Team for an upcoming domestic training camp in Chula Vista, California from October 14-21.
The call up is the second for Florentino since joining the Inter Miami CF Academy, after previously being selected to participate in a U.S. Soccer Boys U-14 Talent ID National Camp earlier this year.
At the club level, the defender currently plays for the Academy’s U-15 side. Notably, last season he was part of the U-15s squad that won the MLS NEXT U-15 East Division and clinched an 2023 MLS NEXT Cup Playoffs berth. Additionally, he was selected as one of the Academy Players of the Month for January.
Florentino is among a growing list of current and former Inter Miami CF Academy players to be called up to a national team, including: Noah Allen, Nicholas Almeida, Edison Azcona, Israel Boatwright, Marco Cantalapiedra, Benjamin Cremaschi, Bryan Destin, Benjamin Donato Justin Ellis, Gabriel Florentino, Victor Fung, Tyler Hall, Cadriano Marsh, Crstian Ortiz, Sebastian Otero, Santiago Morales, Kai Nesfield, Daniel Pinter, Adrián Rosario, David Ruiz and Felipe Valencia, among others.
