Called Up: Robert Taylor Called Up by Finland

Versatile Inter Miami CF midfielder / winger Robert Taylor has been called up by the Finland national team for its four upcoming UEFA Nations League matches.

In its first match, Finland hosts Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium in Finland on Saturday, June 4, at 12 p.m. ET. In its subsequent match, the Eagle-Owls will play a second match in the Helsinki Olympic Stadium, this time against Montenegro on Tuesday, June 7, at 12 p.m ET. In its third match, Finland faces Romania at the Stadionul Rapid-Giulești in Bucharest, Romania on Saturday, June 11, at 2:45 p.m. ET, and ends the international break against Bosnia and Herzegovina once again in its fourth fixture at the Bilino Polje Stadium in Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina on Tuesday, June 14, at 2:45 p.m. ET.

Taylor has earned 24 appearances for the Finnish national team to date, contributing one goal and two assists in that time. Taylor was also a member of Finland’s historic UEFA European Championship 2020 squad last year, as the team qualified for the continental competition for the first time. He previously featured consistently for his country’s U-17, U-19, U-20 and U-21 sides.

Since joining Inter Miami at the start of the 2022 season, Taylor has made 13 appearances for the Herons and notched a goal and two assists for the club, one of which set up a game-winning goal against Miami FC in Third Round of the 2022 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

Taylor will join the national team after Inter Miami’s match against the Portland Timbers set for Saturday, May 28 at 8 p.m. ET at DRV PNK Stadium.
