Called Up: Robert Taylor Called Up by Finland for UEFA Euro Qualifiers

Inter Miami CF versatile attacker Robert Taylor has been called up by the Finland national team for its upcoming 2024 UEFA European qualifying match. 

Both fixtures for the team during this international break will be played at home at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium in Helsinki, Finland, with Taylor and his country first hosting Slovenia on Friday, June 16 at 12 p.m. ET before matching up against San Marino on Monday, June 19 at 12 p.m. ET. 

Taylor has made a total of 28 appearances at the international level, most recently featuring in a 0-1 victory against Northern Ireland during Matchday 2 of the UEFA Euro qualifiers in late March. Throughout his international career so far, he has registered one goal and two assists and was also a member of Finland’s historic UEFA European Championship 2020 squad, which saw the team compete for the continental competition for the first time.  

At the club level, the 28-year-old has registered a goal and assist in 13 appearances, five of them starts, so far this 2023 MLS regular season. Notably, Taylor was given the honors of goal of the Matchday for Matchday 2 in early March, courtesy to a chest-and-volley screamer in the win against Philadelphia Union.  

Taylor will join the Finnish national team after Inter Miami’s match against New England Revolution on Saturday, June 10 at 7:30 p.m. ET at Gillette Stadium.
