Called Up: Robert Taylor Called Up by Finland

Versatile Inter Miami CF midfielder Robert Taylor has been called up to the Finnish national team for its upcoming UEFA Nations League matches. 

Finland hosts Romania in Helsink, Finlandi on Sept. 23 at 2:45 p.m. ET at Helsinki Olympic Stadium before playing Montenegro on Sept. 26 at 2:45 p.m. ET at Gradski Stadion in Podgorica, Montenegro. 

Taylor has featured consistently for the Finnish national team, representing his country at the U-17, U-19, U-20 and U-21 levels before making his debut for the senior team in Jan. 2017. Overall, he has made 26 senior international appearances for Finland. Notably, he was included in the country’s squad for UEFA EURO 2020.

Taylor most recently appeared for Finland in two UEFA Nations League matches against Bosnia and Herzegovina in June. 

The 27-year-old joined Inter Miami in February from Norwegian side Sportsklubben Brann and has played in 29 of the team’s 30 MLS matches, including 24 starts, and tallied three goals and one assist. He is one of just four Inter Miami players to see action in at least 29 MLS games this season. 

Taylor will join the Finnish national team after Inter Miami’s match against D.C. United on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 5 p.m. ET.
