David Beckham Inducted Into the Premier League Hall of Fame 05.20.21

Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham was inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame today. Beckham is the eighth inductee chosen for the league’s highest individual honor by fans and the League Panel. He is the final member of the 2021 group of inductees.

The former Manchester United midfielder helped the team win six Premier League titles during his 11-year-tenure with the club. His stellar performance and unrivaled ability marked him as a mainstay for the team’s seasons throughout the 1990s. With 265 appearances, Beckham scored a total of 62 goals and assisted another 80. Beckham still holds the Premier League record for most goals scored directly from free kicks.

The Premier League Hall of Fame was created to honor former Premier League players who had memorable on-pitch contributions during their time as players. Only a player's Premier League career is considered for candidacy. In order to be eligible for induction all players must have been retired by Aug. 1, 2020. Each inductee receives a personalized medallion that is engraved with their year of induction.
