eMLS League Series One: Here’s What You Need to Know

As the new year kicks off, so does the eMLS tournament season with the first of three tournaments, League Series One, starting on Tuesday, Jan. 5. Inter Miami CF fans can cheer on IMCF_Pabs, who is representing the Club in its first campaign.


What are the key dates and format of League Series One? 

There will be four qualifier dates during League Series One: Jan. 5, 6, 12, and 13. 


January 5 - Day 1

  • 8:30 pm ET vs. New York Red Bulls

  • 9:00 pm ET vs. Atlanta United FC

  • 9:30 pm ET vs. LA Galaxy 

  • 10:00 pm ET vs. Houston Dynamo FC


January 6 - Day 2 

  • 8:30 pm ET vs. New England Revolution

  • 9:00 pm ET vs. Portland Timbers

  • 9:30 pm ET vs. Columbus Crew SC

  • 10:00 pm ET vs. FC Dallas


January 12 - Day 3 

  • 8:30 pm ET vs. Austin FC

  • 9:00 pm ET vs. New York City FC

  • 9:30 pm ET vs. San Jose Earthquakes 

  • 10:00 pm ET vs. Seattle Sounders FC


January 13 - Day 4

  • 8:30 pm ET vs. Sporting Kansas City

  • 9:00 pm ET vs. FC Cincinnati 


Gamers across 27 MLS clubs will compete against each other, playing 14 qualifier matches in the first round, with a total of four matches played per day. A player will earn three points with a win, one point with a draw and zero points with a loss in the first round. Total points will count toward the player’s total. 


What happens next? 

The top eight gamers from the League Series One Qualifier Matches will go on to compete in the League Series One Livestream Knockout Round, vying for victory in the season’s first tournament. This livestream will take place on the dedicated MLS Twitch channel on Jan. 16 and 17. The League Series One winner will receive the official League Series One trophy, a cash prize of $15K and total points will count towards earning an eMLS Cup 2021 berth. The top 11 gamers measured by points after League Series One and Two will qualify for an eMLS Cup 2021 berth in March.

As the qualifiers unfold, fans can follow IMCF_Pab’s score updates on the Inter Miami App and the Club’s social channels. Qualifier matches are closed-door; however, the League Series One Knockout Rounds on Jan 16 and 17 will be livestreamed on the MLS Twitch channel.
