Remember, take public transportation to matches and enjoy a $10 food & beverage credit!
Saturday marked Inter Miami CF’s highly anticipated opener at our new home in the heart of Miami, with a packed Nu Stadium hosting the historic occasion. Thousands of fans took advantage of the various public transportation options available to reach the venue, making the journey alongside other passionate fútbol enthusiasts and avoiding traffic.
Pembroke Pines resident and Season Ticket Member Jaime Higuera was amongst the passengers aboard the Tri-Rail, which enjoyed a passenger surge in what ultimately was the eighth busiest Saturday in Tri-Rail history.
“I was with my brother. We went to the Golden Glades station, and within 10 minutes, the train was there. The whole process was pretty simple. I bought the ticket on the app, they had the machine there to scan the tickets, and we got on. Everything was easy,” said Higuera, who’s been a loyal Season Ticket Member since our first season. “It was great, you get on, and you see everybody with their pink shirts, with scarves, with hats, everything. Immediately, you start to feel the excitement… Then, after the game, I was surprised by how many train cars they had. It got me home quick.”
“If you're going to commute to the game, take public transportation because you're going to save a ton of time. You also save a good amount of money as well on gas, parking, and for me, I think overall it just made the game day experience feel a lot more lively,” detailed Patrick Garcia from Coconut Grove, who made his journey on the Metrorail and is currently in his first season as a Season Ticket Member.
Fans not only enjoyed the different convenient public transportation options, as ticket holders who travelled to the match using public transportation (Tri-Rail, Metrorail, Metrobus, Trolley, or Broward County Transit) received a $10 food and beverage credit at Nu Stadium.
”The incentive is a no-brainer. I was able to save some money on a meal and beverages when I was at the stadium. It's free money basically for just taking the better option. It's a win-win scenario,” stated Garcia.
As action carries on year-round, our Season Ticket Members encourage all fans to explore the different public transportation options for a memorable and smooth trip to Nu Stadium.
“Definitely take public transportation. It’s right there, and it’s quick,” highlighted Higuera.
“I highly recommend it because once you do, you're probably not going to go back to another form of transportation to get to games,” added Garcia.
