Inter Miami made history tonight as it earned a comprehensive 5-1 victory against FC Cincinnati at DRV PNK Stadium on Saturday night.

Head coach Phil Neville was pleased with the squad’s exhilarating performance that translated to a lively atmosphere from the supporters at DRV PNK Stadium.

“Players enjoy playing in that atmosphere, they have fun and I can see the smiles on their faces.”

Neville continued to praise the players following the highest scoring game for the Herons thus far in Inter Miami history.

“We’ve got a lot of great attacking players and when they gel, when they click, they can score goals,” said Neville.

Midfielder Federico Higuaín massively contributed to the team in the victory, scoring in minute six and recording an assist to his brother Gonzalo Higuaín’s goal in the 53rd minute, marking just the third time in MLS history that a pair of brothers scored in the same MLS match; the Higuaíns were also the first to ever do it, doing so in an April victory over the Philadelphia Union.

Federico Higuaín discussed the impact of the two home victories this past week, in which he scored goals in each.

“These two victories gave us hope. They gave us strength to compete and see what happens in the next three games,” said Higuaín.

Higuaín highlighted the relentless mindset, illustrated on the pitch tonight as the squad goes into the final stretch of the season.

“We want to play, we want to compete, and obviously we want to win,” Higuaín said.

Higuaín also showed his gratitude toward the fans for their unwavering support throughout this season.

“Playing at home is always wonderful. Above all because we are playing on our field, with our fans that always come, they have always, always supported us. We have had very hard moments and they haven’t stopped coming. Our responsibility is to play soccer, do it well and win.”
