Inter Miami CF announced today that it has transferred Academy product Diego Lagos to Honduran first-division side Lobos UPNFM. The Club will retain a future sell-on clause as part of the transaction.
His progression represents another example of the opportunities created through the Club’s player development system and the Academy’s continued commitment to preparing young talent for the professional level.
Lagos joined the Inter Miami CF Academy ahead of the 2024-25 season from local club Miami Rush Kendall SC, becoming part of the Club’s U-19 squad. Just months later, he earned an opportunity with Inter Miami CF II, the Club’s MLS NEXT Pro affiliate, and was included on the team’s roster for the 2025 season.
During his time with Inter Miami CF, Lagos also earned multiple international call-ups to represent Honduras at the youth level, featuring for the country’s U-20 and U-21 national teams.
