Inter Miami CF Makes Three Performance Staff Hires

Inter Miami CF announced today that it has hired Julian Haigh as Director of Sport Science, Tom Jobe as Director of Fitness and Rehabilitation and Silas Waszczuk as Sports Performance Specialist.

“We’re excited to welcome Julian, Tom and Silas to Inter Miami, three accomplished professionals who will help us continue to build out a top-class staff. We feel they will all help put our players in the best position to succeed,” said Performance Director Dawn Scott.

Haigh will lead in the management, planning and delivery of the day-to-day physical training and match load monitoring and integrated World Class sports science support for the First Team. He will report directly to Performance Director Scott, who he worked with the U.S. Women’s National Team.

He most recently served as U.S. Women’s National Team & NWSL Applied Sport Scientist beginning in November 2017. Haigh, a Boston, Massachusetts native, also worked as a High Performance Coach for the Boston Breakers in the NWSL from June 2016 to November 2017, First Team Assistant & Head of Academy Sport Science and Strength and Conditioning for the Widnes Vikings in England’s professional rugby Super League from October 2011 to June 2016, Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for Liverpool Ladies FC from February 2014 to February 2015, and Sports Science Intern at Everton FC from July 2011 to May 2012. Haigh is also a Liverpool John Moores University graduate with a degree and a Master’s in sports and exercise science, and holds a USSF F Coaching License.

Jobe’s responsibilities include delivering world-leading integrated, and bespoke, player monitoring and management plans to all First Team players; as well as leading and coordinating the programming and delivery of gym-based strength and conditioning, and end stage Return to Play sessions for the First Team. Jobe brings over five years in professional sports in the United States. Most recently, Jobe served as the Head of Strength and Conditioning for Los Angeles FC, from January 2018 to December 2020, helping them win the 2019 MLS Supporters’ Shield and reach the 2020 Concacaf Champions League final. His previous experiences include Strength and Conditioning Staff Assistant for the Miami Dolphins from April 2017 to January 2018, as well as from June 2015 to July 2016; Graduate Assistant Strength Coach, Football at the Lindenwood University from July 2016 to April 2017, and Strength and Conditioning Intern with the San Francisco 49ers from June 2014 to September 2014.

Jobe has a Master of Science, Human Performance and a Bachelor of Science, Exercise Science from Lindenwood University. Jobe is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, has FMS level 2 certification and is first aid accredited. Jobe will report to Performance Director Scott.                            

Waszczuk will lead on the management, planning and delivery of return to play protocols and the day-to-day gym based physical training for the First Team. He brings over 20 years of experience in sports to the club, most notably serving as Personal Physical Therapist for Brazilian fútbol legend Kaká beginning in 2010. In that time, he served as a Sports Performance Specialist and Physical Therapist at Orlando City SC beginning in January 2015 and Physical Therapist for Italy’s AC Milan from August 2013 to December 2014. 

Among Waszczuk’s many educational accomplishments are a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from Universidade Guarulhos and a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from Universidade Cidade de São Paulo. He will report to the Director of Fitness and Rehab, Jobe.
