Inter Miami CF announced today that it has signed Paraguayan international midfielder Matías Galarza on loan from Argentine First Division side CA River Plate through the conclusion of the 2026 Major League Soccer (MLS) season, with a buy option at the conclusion of the loan. The midfielder joins the Club pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) and P-1 Visa. The transaction was completed prior to the close of MLS’ secondary transfer window.
Galarza, 24, joins Inter Miami bringing valuable experience at both the club and international levels. Throughout his career, the midfielder has competed in elite South American competitions, including the CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana, while also establishing himself with Paraguay’s senior national team. Most recently, Galarza represented La Albirroja at the 2026 FIFA World Cup™, contributing one goal and one assist as Paraguay advanced to the Round of 16.
Born in Asunción, Paraguay, Galarza began his career in the youth ranks of Club Olimpia before joining Brazilian side CR Vasco da Gama on loan, where he made his professional debut and signed his first professional contract. In 2022, he moved on loan to Coritiba before joining CA Talleres on loan the following season. After making his move to Talleres permanent in 2025, Galarza later joined CA River Plate, continuing his career in Argentina’s First Division.
At the beginning of 2026, Galarza joined MLS side Atlanta United on loan, where he spent the first half of the season before returning to River Plate.
At the international level, Galarza has represented Paraguay across multiple youth categories and has earned 19 caps, including a series of notable performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup™, with the senior national team since making his debut in 2022.
Now arriving in South Florida, Galarza brings versatility to Inter Miami’s midfield. The Paraguayan international is set to reinforce the Club’s roster and will remain under contract through the remainder of the season.
