The Inter Miami CF Academy U-16 team is set to take on a new challenge: compete in the second edition of the MESSI CUP. Hosted at the Club’s state-of-the-art facilities, Inter Miami CF Stadium and Florida Blue Training Center in Fort Lauderdale, this year’s tournament will double the number of participating teams from eight to 16, further establishing the competition as a global platform for some of the world’s most promising young players to compete against leading academies from around the world.
“The Messi Cup was created so that the boys can enjoy a unique experience, both on and off the pitch, at a very important stage in their development, while also beginning to understand what it means to compete at the highest international level,” said Inter Miami CF captain Leo Messi. “We’re very happy to see the tournament continue to grow and to be able to bring together players from so many great clubs around the world so they can compete, share the experience and, above all, enjoy football.”
Tournament Overview
Taking place from Oct. 25 through Nov. 1, the second edition of the MESSI CUP will feature 16 of the world’s most prominent youth academies, including Inter Miami CF, Ajax, Inter Milan, Atlético de Madrid, Benfica, FC Barcelona, Palmeiras, Arsenal, Newell’s Old Boys, Flamengo, UE Cornellà, Manchester City, Boca Juniors, River Plate, Independiente del Valle and Chelsea.
The Inter Miami CF Academy U-16 match schedule will be announced at a later date.
