Inter Miami CF will return to virtual competition with another installment in its series of EA SPORTS™ FIFA 20 eFriendlies. The clash will feature Inter Miami’s young Argentine forward Julián Carranza against San Lorenzo’s own Argentine striker Franco Di Santo. The players will face off on Monday, Oct. 5 at 6 p.m. ET.

The matchup will be available to stream via the Inter Miami Twitch, YouTube and Facebook channels and the Club’s official app, as well as San Lorenzo’s digital channels.

Following the EA SPORTS™ FIFA 20 clash, one lucky individual will win Carranza’s signed, game-worn jersey. To enter to win, viewers must download the Inter Miami app. To download the Club’s app, visit https://www.intermiamicf.com/en/club/app.

The eFriendly will be hosted by Andres Cordero, Inter Miami’s experienced commentator and play-by-play announcer.

Carranza has found success in previous virtual competitions, most recently defeating Everton F.C.’s Richarlison by an aggregate score of 8-2 in an international eFriendly. Before that, Carranza participated in Inter Miami’s FIFA 20 tournament as part of Twitch’s Steam Aid 2020, a virtual event that raised over $2.7 million for the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.

Inter Miami has found success in each of its five previous eFriendly matchups, including the most recent results, Carranza’s victory over Richarlison and Rodolfo Pizarro’s 3-2 victory on aggregate against Wolves striker Raúl Jiménez and subsequent 7-1 aggregate victory over Sporting Kansas City’s Alan Pulido.

Carranza, 20, is a young striker with a promising future. After developing as a player with the youth teams of Club Atlético Banfield, he made his professional debut for the senior side in an Argentine first division match against Defensa y Justicia on November 24, 2017, at just 17 years of age. During his time with the team from 2017 through 2019, he made 48 appearances across all competitions, including gaining valuable experience by playing in the CONMEBOL Copa Sudamericana, recording 11 goals and two assists. On July 22, 2019, Carranza became Inter Miami’s second player ahead of its historic inaugural season, and has since registered two goals for the team. On the international stage, he’s featured for Argentina’s U-17 and U-23 sides.

Di Santo, meanwhile, is an experienced Argentine striker. He has accumulated experience across several different continents, featuring in, among others, England for Chelsea F.C., Blackburn Rovers and Wigan Athletic, Germany for Werder Bremen and Schalke 04, Spain for Rayo Vallecano, and Argentina for San Lorenzo. Di Santo has also featured on the international stage, appearing for Argentina’s senior national team three times.

Inter Miami will officially join the EA SPORTS™ FIFA franchise in FIFA 21 when it debuts as a playable team in the title.
