Three Inter Miami CF Academy players earned international call-ups this past August, representing their respective national teams across youth competitions and international friendlies. The opportunities provided valuable experience on the international stage while continuing to highlight the strength of the Club’s Academy pathway.
Here’s a closer look at the Academy players who represented their countries during the month of August:
Sebastian Bennett and Gabin Vazquez - Puerto Rico U-14
Academy players Sebastian Bennett and Gavin Vazquez represented Puerto Rico at the CFU U-14 Challenge Series, held at Cap Cana Sports City in the Dominican Republic.
Bennett, Vazquez and the Puerto Rico U-14s played three matches during the competition, facing Trinidad and Tobago, French Guiana and Haiti. The team recorded a 1-1 draw against Trinidad and Tobago, suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to French Guiana and closed the series with a 1-0 victory over Haiti. Notably, Bennett scored the lone goal in Puerto Rico’s victory over Haiti. The results were not enough to advance to the next round of the series.
Kai Williamson - Jamaica U-17
Winger Kai Williamson was called up to represent the Jamaica U-17 national team in a series of international friendly matches held in San José, Costa Rica, from Aug. 1-7.
This exciting international experience reflects the Academy’s continued growth and commitment to developing top-tier talent capable of competing at the highest levels.
