MATCH PREVIEW: Inter Miami CF and Charleston Battery Set to Clash in U.S. Open Cup Round of 32 at DRV PNK Stadium 


Inter Miami CF is set to take on USL Championship side Charleston Battery in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 32 this Tuesday, May 9 in what will be just the second match in the competition's history to be played at DRV PNK Stadium. Kick off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.

Inter Miami and Brightline are returning for another action-packed season. Take GOOOL GETTER trains and complimentary shuttles from Brightline Fort Lauderdale Station directly to all the Inter Miami CF matches this season at DRV PNK Stadium.

Shuttles depart the station 10 minutes after train arrivals and return shuttles depart from DRV PNK Stadium at 9:45 p.m. ET and 10 p.m. ET so you can stay for the whole match and get back to the station to catch your train back home.

XTRA TIME at the XBTO Northwest Club


The XBTO Northwest Club will be open postgame for all guests to enjoy. The 10,000 square foot hospitality space, which is located next to the team store by Gate 3, includes an air-conditioned enclosed first level, an outdoor terrace on the second level overlooking the field, and a third level open-air lounge.

XTRA TIME at the XBTO Northwest Club will feature a live DJ, giveaways, food and drink specials and the opportunity to watch the Inter Miami CF postgame show from a great vantage point. Fans are encouraged to head over immediately following the final whistle to secure up close viewing.

Inter Miami will look to continue to build momentum after three wins that saw it advance in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, followed by MLS regular season wins on the road against Columbus Crew and most recently at home against Atlanta United in MLS action in the team's last match.

Historic Record and MLS Team of the Matchday Honors for Martínez


Josef Martínez's brace at DRV PNK Stadium in the 2-1 win over Atlanta not only saw the forward notch his first goals for the Club, as he became the fastest player to score 100 MLS regular season goals, reaching the mark in 142 matches.

Additionally, Martínez earned a spot in the MLS Team of the Matchday starting XI for Matchday 11 of the 2023 regular season following his influential performance.

Second-Ever Open Cup Match at DRV PNK Stadium

Inter Miami will make its second appearance in this year’s edition of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup in the Round of 32 against the Charleston Battery. The match will be the second-ever U.S. Cup game to take place at DRV PNK Stadium.

The team earned its spot in the Round of 32 of the competition after edging out Miami FC in penalty kicks after a 2-2 draw in regulation in a Third Round thriller on April 26.

Open Cup Champions on the Roster

Inter Miami currently has three former Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup winners on its roster in DeAndre Yedlin, who won it in 2014 with Seattle Sounders FC, Victor Ulloa, who helped FC Dallas clinch the title in 2016, and Martínez who, who won it in 2019 with Atlanta United.

Scouting the Charleston Battery

The Charleston Battery compete in USL Championship and earned their place in the Round of 32 after defeating USL League One side Charlotte Independence 1-0 at home in the Third Round of the U.S. Open Cup. So far this season, the team has registered five wins, a loss and three draws in USL Championship action and sit atop the Eastern Conference standings.

Forward Augustine Williams is the team's leading goal scorer this campaign, with five to his name.

What's Next?

If Inter Miami wins its Round of 32 matchup, the team will advance to the Round of 16 which will be played on May 23 and 24, and face an opponent that will be determined in a draw on May 11.
