Inter Miami CF II (6W-7L-1D, 19 pts) will return to action on Sunday, July 10, when it takes on Orlando City B in the first of three consecutive road contests during the month of July. The match will mark the third meeting between the two sides of the 2022 MLS NEXT Pro season, as each team secured shutout wins at home to split the initial two fixtures. Inter Miami CF II will look to break that trend Sunday night at Osceola Heritage Park. The match is set to kickoff at 7 p.m. ET and will be streamed live on MLSNEXTPro.com

“We’re pleased with the previous two performances at home in our stadium,” head coach Darren Powell said. “So, I think the challenge to the players this week is can we recapture that form in an away game. I think everybody is ready for that challenge this weekend.”

Inter Miami CF II will look to extend its winning streak to three after recording back-to-back home wins. First, the team earned a decisive 4-0 victory against FC Cincinnati 2 on June 19. Then, Inter Miami CF II stormed back from an early one-goal deficit to beat Chicago Fire II 3-1 on July 2.

Chicago Fire II took the lead in the seventh minute, but forward Shaan Hundal responded in the 13th minute with his third goal of the 2022 MLS NEXT Pro season - all of which have come in the last four games - to tie the game at one. Lawson Sunderland, who assisted Hundal’s goal, continued his strong play into the 17th minute and finished off a feed from Hundal to give Inter Miami CF II a 2-1 lead. The goal was Sunderland’s first for the team. Forward Shanyder Borgelin replaced Hundal in the 61st minute before putting the finishing touches on the match in the 78th minute, sliding the ball into the back of the net off a pass from Romeo Beckham. The goal marked Borgelin’s fifth of the season while Beckham notched his co-league-leading sixth assist.

Despite coming off a 3-2 loss to RNY FC, Orlando City B (3W-7L-3D, 14 pts) sit just five points behind Inter Miami CF II in the MLS NEXT Pro Eastern Conference standings. Additionally, they will return to Osceola Heritage Park, where they have suffered just one defeat all season, for the first time since June 4. Orlando City B are led by forward Jack Lynn, the co-league-leader with 11 goals to his name.

Inter Miami CF II will look to clinch the third clash between the two sides and continue its hunt towards a top-four position in the MLS NEXT Pro Eastern Conference standings.
