Saturday's Free Inter Miami CF Outdoor Watch Party at Wendy's Cancelled

Due to weather concerns, Wendy's has cancelled the free outdoor party for Saturday's match that was going to take place at the Wendy's restaurant at 8000 Pines Blvd., Pembroke Pines, FL, 33024.

Third Consecutive Match on the Road

Inter Miami will continue its road trip this weekend when it visits the New York Red Bulls  on Saturday. The Club will be seeking redemption against the New York Red Bulls after the team fell to the New York based side at home on Sept. 17. 

The team will return to Red Bull Arena for a rescheduled match from earlier this campaign that was postponed due to inclement weather. Saturday’s fixture will be the second matchup this season against the New York Red Bulls and fourth overall matchup between the sides in Club history.

Familiar Faces

The match may also feature reunions between former teammates or familiar rivals for Inter Miami and New York players. Reunions may be on the cards for Inter Miami’s Robbie Robinson and Víctor Ulloa, who have the possibility of taking on known rivals or a former teammate. 

Midfielder Ulloa may face former teammate Frankie Amaya. Ulloa shared the pitch with Amaya eleven times in 2019 during his stint with FC Cincinnati. Forward Robinson, meanwhile, may face former collegiate rival Omir Fernandez. The pair last played against each other in 2018 when Robinson played for Clemson and Fernandez played for Wake Forest. 

Additionally, New York Red Bulls defender Andrés Reyes may face his former side after playing for Inter Miami in its inaugural campaign in 2020.

International Duty

Inter Miami CF Venezuelan defender/midfielder Christian Makoun, as well as his fellow countryman New York Red Bulls' Cristian Casseres Jr., will miss Saturday's fixture as both players are currently on international duty with La Vintotinto for a string of FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.

Be sure to catch Makoun in his potential debut for Venezuela's senior side as they host Brazil at Estadio Olímpico de la UCV in Caracas, Venezuela on Thursday, Oct. 7 at 7:30 p.m. ET. Makoun and Venezuela will then take on Ecuador at home on Sunday, Oct. 10 at 4:30 p.m. ET. Lastly, the team will travel to Chile to face off against La Roja on Thursday, Oct. 14 at 8 p.m. ET at Estadio Monumental David Arellano in Macul, Chile.

New York Red Bulls' Record in 2021

The Red Bulls enter the fixture after defeating FC Cincinnati 0-1 on the road in the team’s last match. In 2021, New York has recorded nine wins, seven draws and 11 losses, with forward Patryk Kimala, who has bagged seven goals and dished out five assists, leading the side this campaign.
