"We have to recover quickly and take it as a lesson. We have to be a better team than what we were in the last match. We were growing and getting better and we have to continue to strengthen ourselves in the areas we were doing well,” said manager Diego Alonso. “What we have to do is turn the page and keep working and learning from our errors to become a better team."

Inter Miami will carry on with the Club’s inaugural season four days after its last match with a trip to Philadelphia, PA. to take on the Philadelphia Union on Sunday. The team is coming off of a tough 1-4 loss against the New York Red Bulls in which forward Juan Agudelo scored Inter Miami’s only goal against his former side. The goal saw Agudelo reach a milestone as it was the 50th goal of his MLS career including postseason, and his second in consecutive matches. Additionally, the primary assist was provided by midfielder Matías Pellegrini, his third of the season, while the secondary assist was provided by winger Lewis Morgan, his fourth of the season. Morgan is currently tied with Rodolfo Pizarro as the team’s top assist provider.

Inter Miami enters Sunday’s away match against Philadelphia having won its last outing on the road, when it defeated Atlanta United FC 1-2 at Mercedes Benz-Stadium on Sept. 19. The win marked the first victory on the road for Inter Miami.

Sunday’s matchup will also be the second of the regular season for Inter Miami against the Philadelphia Union, as the sides met in a group stage game of the MLS is Back Tournament on July 14. Philadelphia won 2-1 in a close contest, with Inter Miami’s leading scorer Pizarro scoring the team’s goal in the match. The sides also met in the preseason, when Pizarro scored the first goal in team history.

The Philadelphia Union will come into this weekend’s game following a 0-0 stalemate playing away against FC Cincinnati. The Union currently sits third in the Eastern Conference table, having put together a record of 7 wins, 4 draws and 2 losses to date this season. The team has been led by forward Kacper Przybylko, who has registered seven goals and one assist so far this season, and 19-year-old American midfielder Brenden Aaronson, who has tallied three goals and two assists.
