The hosts opened the scoring in the 28th minute through a penalty conversion.
Inter Miami equalized five minutes after, with Messi scoring a spectacular free kick from a tight angle from the right end of the pitch. The goal took our captain’s tally to 21 as he extended his lead in the race for the 2026 MLS Golden Boot.
The second half presented a player debut for the visitors, as recently signed Brazilian winger Riquelme Fillipi came on in place of Facundo Mura in the 71st minute to make his Inter Miami debut.
Columbus Crew reclaimed the lead late to secure the 2-1 victory with a goal in stoppage time.
