Inter Miami CF II lined up with CJ Dos Santos in goal; Harvey Neville, Captain Abel Caputo, Modesto Mendez and Logan Batiste at the back; Braxton Najib, Lawson Sunderland and David Ruiz manning the midfield; Joevin Jones and Romeo Beckham flanking the wings either side of Shaan Hundal at the front.

The visitors took the lead in the 7th minute, as Omari Glasgow found space behind the back line to feed in a pass to Missael Rodriguez, who opened the night’s scoring.

Inter Miami II would respond within minutes, as Hundal picked up a short pass from Sunderland in the center of the pitch in the 13th minute, surged toward goal and scored past Chicago goalkeeper Mihajlo Miskovic to bring the game level for the hosts. Hundal’s goal was his third of the 2022 MLS NEXT Pro Season, and Sunderland earned his second assist of the season.

Hundal would repay the favor four minutes later in the 17th minute, latching on to a beautifully weighted through ball and playing a low cross into the box for Sunderland to finish coolly past Miskovic, allowing Inter Miami II to take a 2-1 lead.

The pressure continued to mount against Chicago, as the Inter Miami attacking line produced several chances in the final third throughout the half and forced numerous saves from Miskovic.

On the other end of the pitch the defense remained stalwart, with Mendez and Caputo making heroic clearances, and CJ Dos Santos producing multiple saves to preserve the lead heading into halftime.

Fresh legs entered the game in the 61st minute, as Shanyder Borgelin and Tyler Bagely replaced Hundal and Jones respectively. Borgelin would have an immediate impact, creating an opportunity in the 68th minute that fell just wide of the Chicago upright.

Drew Hardin came on as reinforcement for the midfield, replacing Braxton Najib in the 74th minute.

Borgelin would continue his positive influence on the game in the 78th minute, meeting a driven through ball from Beckham, taking a deft touch past Miskovic and slotting the ball into the freshly exposed net to give Inter Miami II a 3-1 lead. Borgelin brought his tally to five goals in the 2022 MLS NEXT Pro season, while Beckham notched his sixth assist of the campaign.

Brian Destin made his second appearance for Inter Miami II in stoppage time, replacing Beckham on the flank as Inter Miami II cruised to claiming all three points at home.

Inter Miami CF II extends their current win streak to two games, and will play Orlando City B in its next fixture on Sunday, July 10 at 7:00 p.m. ET at Osceola Heritage Park. The match will be streamed on mlsnextpro.com.
