Ahead of hosting the club’s first-ever Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup fixture at DRV PNK Stadium when the South Georgia Tormenta FC come to town tomorrow night, head coach Phil Neville and goalkeeper Drake Callender previewed the exciting cup matchup.

“We are playing against a team that we know quite a bit about because [our second team] played twice last year in the USL. They’re a really good team, they’ve massively improved from last year… and like in any cup competition you cannot take anything for granted. Our attitude has to be no different to what I saw on Saturday against Charlotte, I was really pleased,” said Neville. “[We have to] get back to winning ways which is important, we enjoyed the feeling and the momentum of the four games that we won, so we want to get back to that tomorrow night. Whenever we finish the game we want to be in the hat for the next round.”

“We have to approach this game like any other game really. We have to ensure that we are ready to compete and have the winning mentality. We expect this game to be a tough one, but we have the home field advantage and we are going to use that and our fans to give us momentum. There’s always going to be pressure in these games because it's win or go home, there are no second chances. This [season] is our first time playing in the Open Cup and we want to have a good showing.” added Callender.

Neville then provided fans with updates on the squad, which will be boosted by injury returns and a youth call-up.

“Robert Taylor is back in the squad, Gonzalo Higuaín is back in the squad, I’m hoping to give Gonzalo some minutes in the game, whether from the start or coming on later on. We can play [Harvey] Neville in the U.S. Open Cup because he got clearance, so that’s good, it gives us options at right back.”.

Callender then left a message for the fans, who’s unwavering support is key for Inter Miami players every single game.

“Home field advantage is huge, from La Familia with the drum beat behind our goal, to the atmosphere that really helps us during the match. We want to perform for our fans, for our families, for the organization… we are really looking forward to that.”
