Inter Miami returned to action today with a hardfought 1-1 draw at DRV PNK Stadium against the Philadelphia Union. Head coach Phil Neville praised the team’s improved performance in this evening’s fixture.

“I am massively proud of the players tonight. I think we deserved the victory. I thought that their attitudes, their commitment, their desire - everything that you wanted to see in a team, everything that you want to see as a supporter that we talked about yesterday - I think they gave to the football club,” said Neville. “That’s the type of level of performance that I want from my players...I believe in them and hopefully tonight will give them a little bit of extra belief.”

Midfielder Gregore, who was an imposing presence in midfield throughout the match, echoed his coach’s sentiment regarding the team turning the tide.

“Today after the game we are aware that we have evolved and that we have taken significant steps forward since the last game. We still have a lot of things to improve and continue to get better so we just have to keep working hard before the next game.”

Finally, young striker Robbie Robinson, who scored the team’s goal and earned Heineken Man of the Match honors, expressed the team’s positive attitude as it has it eyes set on continuing to work hard to have a successful season.

“Yeah I think that when we came out, we looked really good. We were able to keep the ball, not give away dumb fouls up and around the box. It was a good game, we deserved the three points. We’ll learn from this game and hopefully in the next one we get the three points. There’s a lot of hope in our team, and we showed that we can fight with anyone and we’re going to keep on doing that,” he concluded.
