Inter Miami CF defender DeAndre Yedlin and the U.S. Men’s National Team have advanced to the Round of 16 of the 2022 FIFA World Cup! The right back became Inter Miami’s first-ever active participant at a World Cup when he was called up to the country’s final 26-man roster for the tournament, making him the only player on the team with previous World Cup experience.
The USMNT advanced to the Round of 16 with two draws against Wales and England, and a victory in a must-win match against Iran to finish second in Group B. Yedlin again made history in the team’s first match of the tournament, coming on in the 74th minute against Wales, making him the Club’s first-ever active representative to feature in a World Cup match.
Next, the U.S. will face the Netherlands in the Round of 16, the first of the knockout rounds.
