Fort Lauderdale CF will travel to Central Florida to face Orlando City B in its second away match of the 2020 USL League One season on Friday, August 14 at 7 p.m. ET. The match at Osceola Heritage Park will air live on ESPN+.

“I think what’s so encouraging is not the number of goals, but the number of chances we’re creating. I would say in every one of our games we’ve created the right amount of chances and it’s about converting some of those chances,” said Manager Jason Kreis. “We’re doing some good things, we’re getting behind the back four and we’re creating some quality chances.”

Fort Lauderdale CF played its first away match against South Georgia Tormenta FC on August 8. It was a historic evening, as the team earned the first victory in its history by defeating Tormenta 1-2 with goals from 16-year-old winger Edison Azcona and Miami-born forward Ricky Lopez-Espin, who’s spectacular goal from the midfield line was nominated for USL League One’s Goal of the Week for Week 4. Additionally, midfielder Eduardo Sosa, who was making his debut for the team and provided assist for the first goal, earned USL Team of the Week honors for his standout performance.

In Fort Lauderdale’s last game, five more Academy products were granted their professional debuts - 17-year-old defender Ethan Hardin, 15-year-old winger Felipe Valencia, 18-year-old midfielder Cesar Cuellar, 17-year-old defender Allan Cuartas and 16-year-old forward Dylan Talero.

In the 2019 season, Orlando City B finished tenth in the 10-team table, missing out on the playoffs. Overall, in the 2019 USL League One season the team put together a record of four wins, four draws and 20 losses.
