Sami Guediri Training 6.3.21

Fort Lauderdale CF will visit North Carolina FC for the first time this Saturday, June 5 at 7 p.m. ET. The team will travel to WakeMed Soccer Park to face the USL League One newcomers and the match will be streamed live on ESPN+.

“We want to continue to keep progressing in the way we play,” said head coach Darren Powell. “North Carolina is a very talented team, they play good soccer. They have a couple of familiar faces that we know and it’s a wonderful place to play soccer...I think we’ll see a very entertaining soccer game on Saturday night.”

Fort Lauderdale will look to perform after another quick turnaround as the team is coming off of a 2-2 draw with Forward Madison FC. The match saw Mitch Curry make his first start and score his first goal with the team, while George Acosta registered his league-leading fifth assist.

Saturday’s match will mark the first meeting between Fort Lauderdale and North Carolina FC as the hosts are appearing in their first season in USL League One.

North Carolina will enter the match after a 1-2 loss at home to FC Tucson. The team has compiled a record of one draw and three losses thus far in 2021.
