Inter Miami midfielder Rodolfo Pizarro has been called up to the Mexican National Team. The Designated Player will link up with the squad for a pair of international games beginning at the end of June as the team prepares for its Gold Cup debut in July.
Mexico will face off against Panama on Wednesday, June 30 at 9 p.m. ET in an international friendly at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville, TN. El Tri will then play against Nigeria on Saturday, July 3 at the LA Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, CA, at 11 p.m. ET.
Pizarro recently featured for Mexico in a pair of friendlies in March 2021, subbing on in the 61st minute in his team’s 1-0 loss against Wales on March 27 at the Cardiff City Stadium in Wales. He then went on to play 65 minutes in Mexico’s 0-1 victory against Costa Rica on March 30 at the SC Wiener Neustadt stadium in Austria.
