Called Up: Robert Taylor Called Up by Finland

Inter Miami CF attacker Robert Taylor has been called up to the Finnish national team for its upcoming 2024 UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying matches. 

In its first game of European qualifiers in the window, Finland will visit Denmark at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen, Denmark on Thursday March 23 at 3:45 p.m ET. The team will then face Northern Ireland at Windsor Park in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Sunday, March 26 at 2:45 p.m ET.

Taylor has featured consistently for the Finnish national team, representing his country at the U-17, U-19, U-20 and U-21 categories before making his debut for the senior team in Jan. 2017. He has played 27 times for his country to date, including competing in UEFA World Cup qualifying, UEFA European Championship qualifying, and UEFA Nations League matches, scoring one goal and tallying two assists. Taylor was also a member of Finland’s historic UEFA European Championship 2020 squad, as the team qualified for the continental competition for the first time.

So far this season, Taylor has made two MLS regular season appearances, winning the goal of the Matchday for Matchday 2 last Saturday, March 4, courtesy of a scorching chest-and-volley that sealed a 2-0 victory over preseason favorites Philadelphia Union.

He will join the Finnish national team after Inter Miami’s match against Toronto FC on Saturday, March 18 at 7:30 p.m ET.
