International Duty Roundup: Recapping the Sept./Oct. Window

Over the past two weeks, nine Inter Miami CF players represented their respective national teams across senior and youth levels, competing in official competitions and international friendlies during the September/October FIFA international window.

Below is a look at the performances and contributions from our players on international duty.

Leo Messi and Rodrigo De Paul - Argentina

Captain Leo Messi brought his brilliant international career to an end on Tuesday night with a goal and a pair of assists in Argentina’s 3-0 win against Benin. Rodrigo De Paul also featured in the match against Benin.

The eight-time Balon d’Or winner brings the curtain down on a historic international career which began in 2005 and over the years saw him lead Argentina to the conquest of four titles (FIFA World Cup 2022, 2021 and 2024 Copa América titles, and 2022 Finalissima) playing a total nine finals along the way, and break countless individual records. 

Germán Berterame - Mexico

Forward Germán Berterame joined the Mexico national team for a series of international friendlies in the United States. Berterame featured in three matches against Colombia, Peru and Chile, starting the latter two as Mexico continues its preparations for upcoming Concacaf Nations League action.

Dayne St. Clair - Canada

Goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair returned to international duty with Canada after previously representing the nation at the 2026 FIFA World Cup™. St. Clair started two matches during the window, recording a clean sheet in Canada’s 1-0 victory over Chile before featuring in the team’s 1-0 defeat against the United States as Canada continues preparations for upcoming Concacaf Nations League matches.

Matías Galarza - Paraguay

Midfielder Matías Galarza joined the Paraguayan national team for the first time since joining Inter Miami. The 2026 FIFA World Cup™ participant came on in the second half of both matches, helping Paraguay secure victories over Bolivia and Colombia.

Fricio Caicedo - Ecuador

Defender Fricio Caicedo earned his second call-up to the Ecuadorian national team and his first since joining the Club. Ecuador traveled to Asia during the international window for a series of friendly matches against South Korea, Japan and Panama. Caicedo came on in the second half against Japan before earning a starting role in Ecuador’s match against Panama.

Lovend’s Delinois - Haiti

Lovend’s Delinois received his first call-up to the Haiti national team as Les Grenadiers secured a place in the Concacaf Nations League A quarterfinals. Haiti recorded three victories and one defeat during the group stage to advance to the next round, with Delinois making his debut in the victory against the Dominican Republic.

Daniel Pinter - U.S. U-20

Academy product Daniel Pinter joined the United States U-20 national team for a series of international friendlies in Murcia, Spain. The United States opened the window with a 2-0 defeat against Brazil before earning a 3-3 draw against Denmark, with Pinter starting the match. The team continues its preparations for the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.

Alexander Shaw - U.S. U-19

Following his participation in the 2026 Concacaf U-20 Championship this summer, midfielder Alexander Shaw received a call-up to the United States U-19 national team for three international friendlies.

Shaw and the United States defeated Wales 2-0, fell 2-1 to England and earned a 4-3 victory over Norway. Shaw captained the team in the win over Wales, came off the bench against England and started against Norway.
