With MLS action on hold, a selection of Inter Miami CF players will focus their competitive energies on Twitch Rivals Sportsworld in an effort to raise money for charity. Coming off the back of Inter Miami’s FIFA 20 tournament as part of Twitch Stream Aid 2020, the Club will now be represented by its players in a national Fortnite event streamed on Twitch.

The event will feature athletes from across several American sports leagues as they compete in a tournament for the crown of “Best Fortnite Gamer.” The five Inter Miami CF representatives are George Acosta, Luis Argudo, Jay Chapman, Lee Nguyen and Robbie Robinson.

The players will be paired off in teams, with Acosta and Robinson forming one and Argudo and Chapman, who will be steaming on his Twitch channel @iChappyz, forming another. Nguyen, who will be streaming on his Twitch channel @MausTrapp, will team up with New England Revolution midfielder Zachary Herivaux, who was his MLS teammate for three seasons.

Athlete qualifiers for the event will begin today, April 13, with the top 100 players advancing to the Athlete Semifinals on Thursday, April 16. The athletes that advance beyond that stage will be drafted by professional Twitch Streamers on the official Draft Show set for Monday, April 20. The Twitch Streamers and selected athlete teammates will compete in the finals of the tournament on Wednesday, April 22, broadcast on Twitch.tv.
