Fort Lauderdale CF will host North Carolina FC at DRV PNK Stadium at 7 p.m. ET on Sunday, August 1. The match will air live on ESPN+.

“It’s always nice to play at home. We are super excited to be back and the players will certainly make sure we compete every single second on Sunday evening,” said head coach Darren Powell. “North Carolina is a very talented team, very well coached. They play an exciting brand of soccer as well, so we expect a very good game with both teams competing. We are excited to test ourselves against a very talented squad.”

This will be the first home match for Fort Lauderdale CF since the end of June. In the month of July, Fort Lauderdale CF played three away matches, registering one loss and two draws. In its most recent fixture the team drew 1-1 against Forward Madison FC on July 24, with Mitch Curry scoring his fifth goal of the season in the 90th minute from an assist by defender Brian Rosales to tie the game. Due to his stellar performance in the match, Rosales earned Clear Audio USL League One Team of the Week honors for week 16 of the season.

Sunday’s match will be the second time the two teams face each other this campaign. Fort Lauderdale CF previously defeated North Carolina FC 2-1 at the beginning of June; Curry scored a goal in the first half and Edison Azcona scored the match-winning goal in the dying moments of the game.

North Carolina FC currently sits 12th in the USL League One standings with nine points, recording two wins, seven losses and three draws so far this season. Fort Lauderdale CF, meanwhile, is ranked seventh with five wins, seven losses, and four draws with a total of 19 points. Additionally, Fort Lauderdale CF ranks first in terms of goals in USL League one with 23.
