Attacker Indiana Vassilev and midfielder Bryce Duke have been named to Team of the Week presented by Audi for MLS Week 16 after their stellar performances in Inter Miami’s 2-1 victory over Minnesota United FC on Saturday night at DRV PNK Stadium.
Vassilev was named to the starting XI after becoming the first player in MLS history to score both a game-tying and game-winning goal after entering the game in the 80th minute or later.
Vassilev was also named Heineken Man of the Match for his late-game heroics.
Duke, meanwhile, was named to the bench after notching an assist in the 87th minute on a perfectly weighted pass to Vassilev, to tie the game at 1-1. In addition to the assist, the midfielder contributed five key passes, five ball recoveries, nine duels won, and won both of his tackles.
Inter Miami players have now been selected for the MLS Team of the Week in eight different weeks this season, accounting for half the MLS season thus far. Seven different Inter Miami players have now received Team of the Week nominations this season.
