Inter Miami CF forward Leonardo Campana has been named to the Team of the Matchday bench for Matchday 15 of the 2024 MLS regular season, following his exceptional outing on Saturday night that secured a crucial home victory for the Herons. Campana’s clutch performance not only sealed the win but also extended Inter Miami’s impressive unbeaten streak to nine matches this regular season.
Campana, who came on as a late second-half substitute, delivered a stunning, match-winning goal just one minute after entering the pitch in the 1-0 victory over D.C. United Saturday night.
In the fourth minute of added time, midfield maestro Sergio Busquets delivered an exquisite pass over the top of the defense, perfectly finding Campana just outside the box. Campana demonstrated exceptional skill by expertly controlling the ball and launching a powerful right-footed strike. The shot ricocheted off the crossbar before settling into the back of the net, sealing the win for Inter Miami in the dying moments of the match. This stunning goal marked Campana's third of the regular season.
Notably, this accolade marks Campana's second Team of the Matchday recognition in his 12 games accrued on the season.
