Messi Named to MLS Team of the Matchday

Inter Miami CF attacker Leo Messi has been named to the Major League Soccer (MLS) Team of the Matchday presented by Audi for Matchday 26 of the 2026 regular season. Our captain earns TOTM honors for the 10th time this regular season after being involved in both of the team’s goals in the 2-2 draw against Nashville at Nu Stadium on Saturday evening.

First, Messi whipped in the corner that was deflected by a Nashville SC defender into the back of the net as Inter Miami equalized in the 19th minute. The Argentine attacking maestro then momentarily turned the scoring around 2-1 in favor of Inter Miami in the 62nd minute through a first-time, left-footed hit from just outside the box to slot the ball at the far post. The goal saw him record his 19th goal this regular season to take the lead in the race for the MLS Golden Boot, while at the same time reaching 99 strikes for Inter Miami across all competitions since joining the Club in 2023.
