Inter Miami CF captain Leo Messi and forward Luis Suárez have been named to the Major League Soccer Team of the Matchday presented by Audi for matchday 29 of the 2026 regular season. The duo earns TOTM honors after their standout roles in helping Inter Miami secure a 4-0 shutout of D.C. United at home at Nu Stadium on Saturday.
Messi features in the TOTM for the 11th time this regular season after bagging a brace in the victory against D.C. United. First, he found the back of the net in the 47th minute with a first-time, left-footed effort from the center of the box to capitalize on a precise delivery from Suárez, before sealing his brace and rounding out the victory for Inter Miami in the 60th minute through a brilliant solo effort.
Our Club captain has now scored 23 goals in 25 appearances this regular season and leads in the race for the 2026 MLS Golden Boot, while also dishing out 13 assists.
Suárez, meanwhile, earns a fifth TOTM selection this regular season after his three goal contributions against D.C. The legendary Uruguayan striker registered a first-half brace, opening the scoring in the 3rd minute and extending the team’s lead in the 39th minute, before his brilliant assist for Messi’s first goal of the night.
Suárez has contributed a total 15 goals and nine assists in 24 appearances thus far this league campaign.
