Inter Miami will look to bounce back at home on Friday, June 22 in a nationally televised clash against in-state opponent Orlando City. Head coach Phil Neville is looking forward to once again playing in front of a great crowd.

“We want the stadium to be electric, we want the atmosphere to be great. And we want to make it a night for them to enjoy and to remember. That means that we have to put a performance on,” said Neville.

With it being only the second home game with a full-capacity stadium, Neville was once again quick to praise and celebrate Inter Miami’s electric home fans.

“Our fans have been our twelfth player this season, probably our best player this season in terms of their vocal encouragement. We’re going to need them on Friday night, it’s going to be an electric atmosphere.”

“We win, we lose, and we draw together at this fútbol club. We’re in it together. We need them and we need everybody to be one.”

Winger Lewis Morgan was also quick to praise the fans and their contributions to the team in terms of pushing the team forward.

“I truly believe, from what I’ve seen, we’ve got the best fans in the league. Every time we’re playing it's always something that brings a lot more energy, especially with the heat here, sometimes you need that backing from the fans. It’s like it’s a little extra push, and they are great at that,” said Morgan

The anticipation of playing against an in-state opponent is always a unique experience for every fútbol club, and that is no different for Inter Miami.

“That’s what makes fútbol so appealing, so attractive, and so good. It’s on national TV so it’s primetime and these are the games that I hope the players play and want to perform in. We owe our supporters a performance at home,” said Neville.

Ultimately, Neville wants Friday’s game to be dedicated to the fans. The best way to reward them would be to get a result over Orlando.

“We can call these games like local derby games where it’s for the fans, the result is for the fans, the result is what we want,” said Neville.

Additionally, captain Blaise Matuidi praised the team's quality and highlighted the importance of representing Inter Miami heading into Friday’s game.

“I think we have a lot of quality and we need to work hard everyday. This logo for us is important because I think we are one of the teams that people around the world look [at],” concluded Matuidi.
