Inter Miami CF Homegrown midfielder and Academy product David Ruiz has been named in the Team of the Matchday for Matchday 34 of the MLS 2023 regular season. The youngster secured Team of the Matchday honors following a strong display that helped the team earn a point during Inter Miami’s 1-1 draw against in-state rivals, Orlando City SC, at Exploria Stadium this past Sunday night.
Ruiz earned his place in the Team of the Matchday bench after netting the go-ahead goal in the 52nd minute, where he quickly reacted to a rebound following a shot from striker Josef Martínez. The young midfielder was able to take full advantage and tap in the ball into the back of the net, registering his second goal this regular season and his third overall this year.
The Honduran international started and played the full 90 minutes, completing the match with a 91.7% passing rate while clocking in a duel win percentage of 50%, winning 12 of his duels.
Ruiz makes his first appearance in an MLS Team of the Matchday, becoming the 17th Inter Miami player to feature in an MLS TOTM so far this regular season.
